Projects

Projects are only available for Business and Enterprise accounts.

The StatusCloud console has support for sorting and filtering resources, but at a certain size this is not enough. Projects allow items to be grouped together, with users working on a project able to activate a persistent filter to only see relevant resources.

Projects can also be used for access control, with various privacy levels and membership roles on offer. Team members cannot see or interact with resources belonging to a project they have no access to.

We have a step-by-step guide to performing simple project management tasks.

Resources

Each resource (i.e. monitor, status page, etc.) can belong to at most one project. It can be moved into, out of, or between projects at any time. To move into or out of a project, the user performing the action must be an administrator of the project. To move between projects, the user must be an administrator of both projects.

For resources within a project, a user's access is determined by their project role.

It is not possible to move resources between projects in different accounts.

Filter

When working on a project, it may be helpful to filter content to only show relevant resources. In the StatusCloud console, this can be achieved by using the project selector.

On desktop, this is found near the top left of the interface, just right of the account selector and StatusCloud logo. On mobile, it is at the bottom of the sidebar menu, just above the account selector.

Using the dropdown, you can select which project to use. Only projects of which you are a member are shown. You can also select to show all resources, which will remove the filter, or to only show those that are in no project.

Note that certain pages, such as the Projects list, are not affected by this filter.

Theme

Every project has a theme color, which is set during creation and can be modified at any time in the project settings.

Resources that are part of the project display a small badge in various places across the console interface, and this badge will reflect the project's theme color.

The chosen theme has no other effect, so can be freely used for organisational purposes. How your team chooses to assign theme colors is up to you.
